Overview

A leading manufacturing business is seeking a multi‑skilled maintenance technician to support site performance through effective maintenance and continuous improvement. The role focuses on maximising equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting operational targets across safety, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on production equipment
  • Diagnose faults quickly and perform root cause analysis to reduce downtime (MTTR / MTBF)
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and production
  • Work closely with production teams to improve operational efficiency
  • Maintain high standards in health, safety, and environmental compliance
  • Assist with engineering projects and equipment upgrades
  • Contribute to a proactive, high-performing engineering team culture

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role (electrical & mechanical)
  • Background in fast-paced manufacturing / FMCG environment
  • Strong experience with:
    • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
    • Breakdown and fault finding
    • Production line equipment
  • Knowledge of PLC systems and automation
  • Understanding of continuous improvement / lean methodologies
  • Familiar with health & safety systems, permits to work, and risk assessments

Qualifications

  • Recognised engineering qualification (HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Electrical regulations (e.g. 18th Edition) desirable
  • Additional training in PLCs or automation advantageous
